Vanessa Staub Psychology is a boutique Psychology Practice located in Essendon, Victoria, Australia, providing treatment for a range of mental health issues.
We understand starting therapy can feel vulnerable and be a big step to take. We aim to provide a safe, respectful, welcoming space to help you feel comfortable, at ease and supported throughout your treatment.
We bring over 20 Years experience treating a wide range of mental health issues, and have a special interest in supporting women's mental health and wellbeing at all stages of life.
Our clients can attend appointments in person, or online via telehealth. We also welcome clients from regional and rural Victoria and interstate via Telehealth Appointments (online or telephone).

Vanessa is a highly experienced Psychologist providing effective, evidence-based therapies to her clients. Her approach is warm, personable, and caring. She takes a collaborative approach and will work with your Individual needs to develop a holistic mind-body treatment plan to help improve your mental heath, and develop the tools you need to cope with life’s challenges.
She takes the time to listen and get to know you, to hear your story and what has lead you to access counselling. She will work collaboratively with you to help you understand your symptoms, their causes and maintaining factors, and develop a treatment plan that best suits your individual needs. She can also continue to support you with a recovery and relapse prevention plan once you are feeling well.

Referrals and Information for GP's
Vanessa is a registered Psychologist and the Practice owner of Vanessa Staub Psychology. She completed her University education at The University of Melbourne and RMIT. Throughout her 20+ Year career, she has developed extensive training and experience in working with Individuals, Couples, and Families presenting with a wide range of mental health issues in both the Community Health and Private Practice settings. Her approach is warm, personable, and compassionate with the aim of empowering and motivating individuals to move towards recovery.
She uses a range of therapeutic techniques including:

Vanessa works collaboratively with G.P.’s, Psychiatrists, and other allied health professionals to ensure clients have access to a holistic Care Plan. With a referral from a G.P., part payment for Vanessa’s sessions is rebatable through Medicare. She is also a registered Private Health Insurance Provider.
Vanessa is a dedicated mental health professional who is passionate about de-stigmatising mental health issues and accessing therapy. She strongly believes that with the appropriate support, many individuals can achieve a life free from the control of their symptoms, and learn to thrive!

FAQs
How long does each therapy session take?
An Individual appointment is 50-minutes duration.
Can a Medicare Rebate be claimed for my sessions?
Yes. I am a registered Medicare Provider.
With a referral from your GP/Psychiatrist, under a Better Access Mental Health Care Plan, the current Medicare rebate is $89.65 per session. A maximum of 10 sessions per Calendar Year can be claimed for Psychology services.
What are your fees?
Initial Appointment:
$230- *without Medicare Rebate
$140.35 *with Medicare Rebate
Subsequent Appointment:
$200- *without Medicare Rebate
$110.35 *with Medicare Rebate
Cancellation Policy:
We understand plans can change and that you may need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. In order to accommodate other clients, we ask that you provide 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Appointments cancelled, rescheduled or not attended with less than 24 hours notice will be charged a fee equal to the full session fee.
Can you claim a Private Health Insurance rebate for sessions?
If you have Private Health Insurance with Extras cover that includes Psychology services, your sessions can be claimed. Please contact your Individual Health Insurance fund to determine your claim amounts available to you based on your type and level of cover.
*Please note a Medicare Rebate and Health Insurance Rebate cannot be claimed for the same session.
