I am a Psychologist with over 20 Years experience treating a wide range of mental health issues.
I work with Individuals aged 18 Years and up, and have a special interest in supporting women with optimising their mental health and wellbeing at all life stages.
I help my clients develop a holistic mind-body approach to improving mental heath and develop the tools they need to cope with all of life’s challenges.
I take the time to listen and get to know you, to hear your story and what has lead you to access counselling. I work collaboratively with you to help you understand your symptoms, their causes and maintaining factors, and develop a treatment plan that best suits your individual needs. I also continue to support you with a recovery and relapse prevention plan once you are feeling well.
I have a special interest in and offer treatment for adults experiencing:
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Perinatal Disorders and Birth Trauma
Mental Heath issues triggered by Major Life Events including Loss and Grief
Sessions are available Australia-wide via Telehealth.
Face to face sessions can be attended at my clinic in Essendon.

Vanessa is a registered Psychologist and the Practice owner of Vanessa Staub Psychology. She completed her University education at The University of Melbourne and RMIT. She has extensive training and experience in working with Individuals, Couples, and Families presenting with a wide range of mental health issues in both the Community Health and Private Practice settings. Her approach is warm, personable, and compassionate with the aim of empowering and motivating individuals to move towards recovery.
She uses a range of therapeutic techniques including:
Solution Focused Therapy and
Mindfullness, Breathwork & Meditation Training.
She has a particular interest in supporting individuals suffering from:
Anxiety and Depressive Disorders
Perinatal Anxiety and Depression
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Vanessa works collaboratively with G.P.’s, Psychiatrists, and other allied health professionals to ensure clients have access to a holistic Care Plan. With a referral from a G.P., part payment for Vanessa’s sessions is rebatable through Medicare. She is also a registered Private Health Insurance Provider.
Vanessa is a dedicated mental health professional who is passionate about de-stigmatising mental health issues and accessing therapy. She strongly believes that with the appropriate support, many individuals can achieve a life free from the control of their symptoms, and learn to thrive!

How long does each therapy session take?
An Individual appointment is 50-minutes duration.
Can a Medicare Rebate be claimed for my sessions?
Yes. I am a registered Medicare Provider.
With a referral from your GP/Psychiatrist, under a Better Access Mental Health Care Plan, the current Medicare rebate is $89.65 per session. A maximum of 20 sessions per Calendar Year can be claimed for Psychology services.
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
Sliding scale rates are not available.
With a referral from your GP/Psychiatrist under a Mental Health Care Plan, part of your session fee can be claimed as a rebate with Medicare.
What are your fees?
Initial Appointment 50 mins $230-
Subsequent Appointment 50 mins $200-
Can you claim a Private Health Insurance rebate for sessions?
If you have Private Health Insurance with Extras cover that includes Psychology services, your sessions can be claimed. Please contact your Individual Health Insurance fund to determine your claim amounts available to you based on your type and level of cover.
*Please note a Medicare Rebate and Health Insurance Rebate cannot be claimed for the same session.
